This is the first video in a series about special education. Many parents and families are frustrated over this topic and before we can begin to engage with a school over whether or not a students IEP is being properly implemented or if the student qualifies and under which disability, we should first educate ourselves about exactly what special education is and where it came from. Future topics will address various disabilities including ADHD and emotional disturbance, parts of an IEP, classroom accommodations, the IEP team and much more, and all in a quick, comprehensive and understandable way. If you think your child is in need of special education, or believe that his or her IEP is not being implemented properly or have any related concern, you can contact Maryland K12. Our free consultation includes a deep and detailed look into your situation and a written report with recommendations. We have a full roster of available consultants and advocates to help.
